Location: Abingdon, VA (frequent travel to Bristol, VA, and Johnson City, TN – 3–4 times per week). The Role : We are seeking a Director of Operations to lead and enhance the performance of our five locations. This senior leadership position reports directly to ownership and will be responsible for operational excellence, growth strategies, and maintaining the highest standards of service and quality. Key Responsibilities: • Oversee and direct daily operations across all restaurant and café locations to ensure consistency, efficiency, and high performance • Design, implement, and manage inventory management systems to improve operational efficiency, reduce waste, and control costs • Lead, mentor, and hold accountable location managers to achieve operational, financial, and customer service objectives. • Oversee distribution and supply chain operations across all sites, ensuring reliability, accuracy, and cost effectiveness. • Partner closely with ownership on strategic planning, growth initiatives, budgeting, and continuous process improvement. • Ensure full compliance with all health, safety, sanitation, and quality standards, as well as local, state, and federal regulations. • Travel 3–4 times per week between locations to maintain operational consistency and provide hands-on leadership. • Utilize prior import and export experience to support sourcing and importing goods from international suppliers. • Oversee and optimize the use of operational systems, including Toast POS and XtraChef, to drive data-informed decisions. • Maintain availability throughout the week, including weekends, as required to support multi-unit operations. • Hold and maintain a valid ServSafe certification. • Provide hands-on support to BOH and FOH teams during emergencies or periods of short staffing. • Assume legal and operational accountability for restaurant operations in alignment with company policies and regulatory requirements.
